Financial Aid

The Financial Aid Office coordinates federal, state, institutional, and private financial assistance programs. Students who intend to request financial assistance are expected to arrange an appointment with a financial aid officer as soon as registration has been completed. Financial Aid Officers are available on a walk-in and appointment basis to provide individual counseling to students who apply for financial aid.

To Apply for Grants and Loans

To apply for all types of federal grants and loans, students must obtain a PIN Number, fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), complete Entrance Counseling and the Master Promissory Note (MPN). Each award year is from July 1st to June 30th. The Financial Aid Office at Coleman University can assist you with the application process.

Please follow these steps to complete all financial aid forms online.

1) PIN Number: www.pin.ed.gov

2) FAFSA: You will need your 1040 Federal tax return and Coleman University's school code (009273). www.fafsa.ed.gov

3) Entrance Counseling, Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Parent Plus Loan: In order to complete your entrance counseling, MPN and Parent Plus Loan, your PIN number must be active at least 48 hours. You must have two references in order to complete your MPN and Parent Plus Loan. Your references can be family or friends and you will need their name, address and phone number. www.studentloans.gov

To Apply for the State Grant "Cal Grant"

In order to apply for Cal Grant, you will need to complete your FAFSA and GPA verification before March 1st of every year.

Scholarship Programs

A limited number of scholarships are available for incoming students. Up to 20 Presidential Scholarships are awarded each year based largely on previous academic achievement. Students are encouraged to apply for these scholarships early. Funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

V.A. Education Benefits

All degree programs at Coleman University are approved for veterans training. Eligible veterans and in-service personnel should obtain application forms from the Admissions Office.

Coleman University trains veterans under the Veterans Vocational Rehabilitation programs. Veterans should contact the Veterans Administration to determine eligibility to participate in this program.
